MORE ABOUT ALLIS FORCEPS:

This tissue holding forceps is named after Oscar Huntington Allis, an American surgeon (1836-1921) who is remembered for his contributions in orthopedic surgery. The forceps has a ratchet locking system; the terminal end of the blades bears short teeth. The teeth have grooves in between so that when the two blades meet, one tooth of the blade fits in the groove of the other blade. The blades may be curved or straight.
