Direction to Use
- Preparation:
- Ensure that the cavity or treated area is clean, dry, and free from debris or moisture.
- Gather the required materials: the zinc oxide powder, eugenol liquid, mixing pad, and a spatula.
- Mixing:
- Dispense an appropriate amount of zinc oxide powder and eugenol liquid as per the manufacturer’s instructions (usually a powder-to-liquid ratio of 2:1).
- On a clean, dry mixing pad, mix the powder and liquid thoroughly using a spatula.
- Continue mixing until a smooth, homogenous, and workable consistency is achieved.
- Application:
- Once the mixture reaches the desired consistency, immediately place the cement into the cavity or prepared area using a spatula or condenser.
- For temporary fillings, ensure complete coverage and slight overfilling to allow for proper shaping.
- Setting:
- Allow the material to set. The setting time is typically within a few minutes, but avoid disturbing the material during the initial setting phase.
- Finishing:
- Once the cement has set, any excess material can be trimmed or shaped to fit the tooth anatomy using appropriate dental instruments.
- Post-Procedure Care:
- Instruct the patient to avoid chewing on the filled tooth until the cement has fully set to ensure optimal results.
