Description
Waldent Premium Air Polisher is an equipment that uses air & water pressure to deliver a controlled stream of specially processed powders in a slurry through the handpiece nozzle. This pressurized jet of air, water, and powder removes surface stains, plaque, and other soft deposits such as food particles trapped in between the teeth.
Air prophy is a proven ergonomic and easy to use air-driven dental air polishing lightweight unit. That makes routine cleaning and polishing procedures easier and more efficient than ever before. The air prophy is a compact bicarbonate-jet whitening system with a quick-fit connection to the turbine.

Direct to Use
- Preparation: Ensure the air polisher is properly connected to a dental unit with a 2-hole turbine tub. Verify that the device is clean and all connections are secure.
- Patient Preparation: Seat the patient comfortably in the dental chair and provide appropriate protective eyewear to prevent any powder splatter.
- Powder Preparation: Fill the powder chamber of the air polisher with the recommended polishing powder, ensuring it is compatible with the device.
- Adjust Settings: Adjust the air and water pressure settings on the dental unit to the desired level for the procedure. Consult the manufacturer’s guidelines for recommended pressure settings.
- Positioning: Hold the air polisher handpiece at a comfortable angle relative to the tooth surface being polished. Maintain a steady hand throughout the procedure.
- Polishing: Activate the air polisher by pressing the foot pedal on the dental unit. Direct the nozzle of the handpiece towards the tooth surface to be polished, maintaining a distance of approximately 3-5mm.
- Movement: Move the handpiece in a gentle, circular motion across the tooth surface, ensuring even distribution of the polishing slurry. Pay particular attention to areas with visible stains or plaque buildup.
- Rinse: Periodically rinse the tooth surface and the handpiece nozzle with water to remove excess polishing slurry and debris.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the tooth surface to assess the effectiveness of the polishing procedure. Continue polishing until the desired level of cleanliness and shine is achieved.
- Completion: Once polishing is complete, deactivate the air polisher and rinse the patient’s mouth thoroughly with water to remove any residual powder.
- Post-Procedure Care: Provide post-procedural instructions to the patient, including recommendations for oral hygiene and follow-up appointments as necessary.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: After each use, thoroughly clean and disinfect the air polisher according to the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
