Description
Voco Meron Plus is a high-performance, resin-reinforced glass ionomer cement that excels in various critical aspects of dental luting and restoration. This product, available in convenient liquid/powder refills, is designed to meet the stringent requirements of modern dental practices.
Meron Plus stands out with its exceptional adhesion properties, ensuring a secure and rapid bond, even with challenging materials like zirconium dioxide ceramics. Its precise marginal fit, low film thickness, and thixotropic behavior guarantee excellent wetting without unwanted runoff. Moreover, this cement is moisture and acid-resistant, providing long-lasting results.
One of Meron Plus’ key advantages is its simple removal of excess material during the long elastic phase, facilitating efficient dental work. It is versatile, suitable for luting a wide range of dental restorations, including porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns, bridges, metal inlays, onlays, and more.
The product’s ease of use is evident in its straightforward application process, with a working time of 2-4 minutes at room temperature and a setting time of 3-5 minutes in the mouth. To ensure optimal results, follow the provided instructions for use.

Direction to Use
Fields of Application:
- Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and bridges on hard dental tissue and cores rebuilt with amalgam, composite, or glass ionomer cements.
- Metal inlays, onlays, crowns, and bridges.
- Posts.
- Full porcelain crowns manufactured from silicate-only, alumina-only, or zirconia-only cores.
- Orthodontic appliances.
Method of Use:
- Ensure that the enamel, dentine, and cavity surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and dried.
- Clean cores before luting (e.g., pumice and water), rinse thoroughly, and dry with a gentle air stream or cotton pellets. Avoid over-drying.
- Shake the powder and the liquid bottle thoroughly for at least 3 seconds before dispensing.
- Ensure a working temperature of 15°C – 23°C.
- Mix one level spoon of powder with two drops of liquid. Place both components onto a glass mixing plate or a suitable mixing block. Hold the liquid bottle vertically when dispensing.
- Mix the powder and liquid into a homogeneous paste using an abrasion-resistant spatula.
Follow these recommended times:
- Mixing time: 30 seconds.
- Working time: 2 – 4 minutes at room temperature.
- Setting time (at 37°C): 3 – 5 minutes.
Application – Luting of Restorative Pieces:
- Apply the material onto the preparation and/or into the restorative piece using a suitable instrument (e.g., spatula or brush).
- Place the piece in situ and let it set under slight pressure.
- Meron Plus has a working time of approximately 2 – 4 minutes at room temperature and sets in the mouth in 3 – 5 minutes. Be aware that higher temperatures shorten the working time, while lower temperatures prolong it.
- After around 4 minutes, the material reaches a gel-like consistency, making it easy to remove any excess with a probe.
Application – Luting of Posts:
- Apply Meron Plus only to the post.
- Seat the post in the root canal and make it vibrate slightly while seating to avoid air bubbles.
- Do not apply the cement into the canal with a lentulo as this may speed up the setting excessively.
Indications and Precautions:
- Avoid contact with substances like eugenol or thymol that inhibit the setting of Meron Plus.
- Remove all residues of varnishes and other substances from the hard substance before final luting.
- Ensure sufficient residual dentine thickness to prevent pulp irritation. Protect the pulp or build up the core if necessary.
- Rinse instruments immediately with cold water before the cement residues set.
- After removing orthodontic bands, gently and quickly remove cement residues with an ultrasonic scaler.
- Avoid contact with soft tissue.
- Meron Plus contains specific ingredients; do not use it if there are known hypersensitivities to these components.
- In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water and seek help from an eye specialist.
Storage Information:
- Close the containers of powder and liquid tightly immediately after use.
- Store in dry conditions at 4°C – 23°C.
- Do not use after the expiry date.
