These 2 ml K3 EDTA vacuum tubes are supplied by MB Lab consumables. EDTA tubes are used by haematologists, clinical staffs as well as are widely used throughout hospitals. EDTA stands for Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. EDTA functions by binding calcium in the blood and keeping the blood from clotting. These tubes are used for cross matching, blood grouping and for many other types of blood cell tests. K3-EDTA is sprayed with precision and uniformity on the inner surface of the tube. This allows the blood specimen to get completely mixed with the additive. The K3-EDTA anticoagulant plasma is used especially for biological assay of pathogenic microorganisms, bacterial molecules and parasites.
These 2 ml tubes are 13 x 75 mm and are made with premium grade PET. These tubes are easy to identify owing to their colour coded cap. The K3-EDTA tubes have lavender coloured caps made from medical grade butyl rubber. These tubes are made from PET, are capped and labeled. The quantity of additive is very small so there are no dilution mistakes.
The K3-EDTA anticoagulant has been recommended as the anticoagulant of choice for the various hematological testing because it allows or the best preservation of cellular components and morphology of the blood cells.
These 2ml K3-EDTA tubes have a shelf life of about 24 months.
