GC RELINE II is a soft denture relining material designed for denture wearers who cannot tolerate conventional hard acrylic denture reliners. Soft denture reliners are typically used for denture patients exhibiting thin, relatively non-resilient mucosa or severe alveolar bone resorption. While soft liners are more comfortable for these patients, they often easily peel from the periphery of the denture and are difficult for the dental professional to grind and adjust.
GC Reline II’s new vinylpolysiloxane (VPS) formula exhibits improved adhesive characteristics as well as better grinding performance in clinical practice. The included removing solution allows for easy removal of old soft reline material and efficient removal of excess new reline material.
GC Reline II Soft is an A-silicone material providing comfort and long-lasting elasticity for indications of sharp or bony alveolar ridges and undercuts. It is used to adapt dentures after extractions or implant surgeries.
GC Reline II may be used with resin and metal-based dentures, and when applied as directed with the accompanying Primer.
Indication for use : Suitable for chairside and lab relining procedures.
- Relining of dentures in case of thin sensitive mucosa and resorbed ridges.
- Relining of dentures in case of sharp and bony ridges.
- Relining of dentures in case of bony undercuts (with difficulties involving insertion and/or removal of the denture).
- Relining of implant-supported dentures
Advantages :
- Resilient: acts as a cushion between the denture and the oral tissue to buffer masticatory pressure and solve anatomical problems
- Can stay in place for weeks or months
- Convenient cartridge delivery
- Ideal viscosity, flowing under pressure to adapt to anatomical details
- Long-lasting comfort & gentle relief: the material’s surface remains elastic, smooth and clean over time
- RELINE II Primer for Resin provides a long-lasting adhesion to the underlying denture
- RELINE II Remover for Resin makes it possible to easily remove & replace the relining layer
- RELINE II Finishing Material can be used to further seal the margins
Features
- Significantly improved Peel Bond Strength (PBS)
- Higher grinding performance with greater tear strength
- Better elastic durability and material stability over time
- Smoother finish, when used in conjunction with GC RELINE II FINISHING MATERIAL
- Unique Silicone Compounding Technique that prevents air bubbles from forming in the material

Directions to Use
DIRECT RELINING METHOD
- Check the resin denture for misfit and sensitive areas of the mucosa (e.g. with Fit Checker Advanced or Fit Checker Advanced Blue).
- Disinfect with a non-alcohol based product and dry the denture thoroughly. Relieve the area to be relined and roughen it, ideally by microabrasion.
- Clean in an ultrasonic cleaning machine containing an ultrasonic or enzymatic solution and dry thoroughly. Apply GC RELINE II PRIMER FOR RESIN to the bonding surface with a clean and dry brush and gently dry with clean, dry and oil-free air. Do not contaminate the surface with latex gloves, powder from gloves, etc.
Note: Close the bottle with the cap immediately after use. Do not contaminate the primer bottle with moisture, in order to avoid that the primer liquid becomes blurry. - Dispense GC RELINE II Soft, ExtraSoft or ExtraExtraSoft directly onto the denture. The working time is 2 minutes at room, temperature 23°C (73.4°F).
Note: Do not apply a small amount of onset material (1-2 mm of mixed material) as this is slow to set and you will need to retain the denture in the mouth for over 5 minutes. - Do not use a solvent like alcohol on the area between GC RELINE II and the denture as this will cause separation.
- Seat the denture in the mouth. Ask the patient to gently close into centric occlusion and then perform muscle trimming.
- Retain the denture in place for at least 5 minutes and remove it from the mouth.
- Using a scalpel or scissors, remove excess material on the edge of GC RELINE II Soft, ExtraSoft or ExtraExtraSoft.
- Using light pressure, progressively trim with GC RELINE II POINT FOR TRIMMING Using a speed of less than 20,000 RPM, and finish with GC RELINE II WHEEL FOR FINISHING using a speed of less than 6,000 RPM. Before use, the wheel must be set on a mandrel with a fixation cap or screw to hold it securely in place.
- If it is considered necessary to achieve an even smoother finish, follow the procedure below: (NB: GC RELINE II FINISHING MATERIAL A and B are sold separately)
- Apply GC RELINE II PRIMER FOR RESIN to the peripheral borders and margins of the denture in order to bond GC RELINE II FINISHING MATERIAL to it. Do not apply the primer to the
relining material. Gently dry the primer (as in step 3 above). - Dispense equal amounts of GC RELINE II FINISHING MATERIAL A and B onto the mixing pad. Mix with a plastic spatula and apply the mixture to the edge of the previously
placed GC RELINE II Soft, ExtraSoft or ExtraExtraSoft material and to the denture using a sponge. The working time is 2 minutes and the setting time is 4 minutes at room temperature
23°C (73.4°F). If it is necessary to check the fit of the relined denture, use an uncured fit checking material.
INDIRECT RELINING METHOD
- Proceed according to Steps No.1-4 for Direct Relining Method.
- Mount the denture on the gypsum model and press it on an articulator.
- Remove the denture from the model after about 30 minutes.
- If required, proceed according to Steps No.7- 8 for Direct Relining Method.
